Advanced motor starting and stopping with XLR-8 Adaptive Acceleration Control, integrated bypass and comprehensive motor protection.
The AuCom EMX3 introduces a new generation in soft start technology: XLR-8, Adaptive Acceleration Control. XLR-8 offers an unprecedented level of control over motor’s acceleration and deceleration profiles. Using XLR-8, the soft starter learns the motor’s performance during start and stop, then adjusts control to optimise performance.
The AuCom EMX3 soft starter is smart, dependable and easy to use. New design features make the AuCom EMX3 the perfect solution for quick set-up or more customised control.
The AuCom EMX3 is an advanced motor soft starter designed to provide controlled acceleration and deceleration, motor protection and flexible application control. Its XLR-8 Adaptive Acceleration Control learns the motor and load behaviour during starting and stopping, then adjusts control to achieve the selected profile.
The EMX3 is suited to fixed-speed motor applications where controlled starting, controlled stopping or motor protection are important. Typical applications include water and effluent pumps, irrigation pumps, compressors, fans, conveyors, bandsaws and circular saws.
Controlled starting reduces electrical and mechanical stress on pumps and associated equipment. Controlled stopping can also help reduce hydraulic shock and water hammer in suitable pumping systems.
The EMX3 limits high starting current and provides controlled motor acceleration, helping reduce stress on motors, couplings, belts and driven equipment.
Soft starting can reduce mechanical shock on saws, conveyors and other high-inertia machinery while providing useful motor protection and fault monitoring.
The EMX3 combines adaptive starting and stopping control, integrated bypass, motor protection, communications and flexible I/O in a proven industrial platform. Where continuous speed control is not required, the integrated bypass also allows very low running losses compared with continuously processing motor power through a variable frequency drive.
XLR-8 is AuCom's adaptive motor control technology. The EMX3 learns how the motor and load respond during starting and stopping, then adjusts its control to achieve the selected acceleration or deceleration profile.
Yes. Once the motor has completed its start, the bypass carries the motor current rather than continuously passing the full motor power through the SCRs. This significantly reduces heat generation and running losses during normal operation.
Communication options shown for the EMX3 include DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus and Ethernet, allowing integration with industrial automation and monitoring systems.
